Terms of service
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Nazil Afeef, an individual living in the Maldives, who runs Daysli (“we”, “us”). They are meant to be read, so they are short. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Daysli does
Daysli holds your calendar, your to-dos and a private journal, and gives you an optional public link at daysli.com/your-name so other people can ask for your time or send you something to do.
Nobody can put anything into your day. Everything that arrives from outside is a request, and it only becomes an appointment or a task when you accept it. That is the central idea of the product and we will not change it.
A personal, experimental project
Daysli is a personal project, run by one person for their own use, for experimenting, and for learning how to build software with the help of AI tools. It is not a company, a commercial service or an established platform, and it has not been through an independent security audit. Accounts are by invitation only.
That means it is a working piece of software rather than a finished one: features may be added, changed or withdrawn, parts may behave imperfectly or stop working, and it may be discontinued. You use it at your own risk, to the extent the law allows that. Do not rely on Daysli for anything where an interruption, a defect, a loss of data or an exposure of what you put in would cause you serious harm, and keep your own copies of anything important.
Your account
You need a working email address; we send a six-digit code to it each time you sign in. Keep access to that mailbox, because it is how you get in. One person, one account — do not share it.
You are responsible for your account and for everything done under it, for the devices you use it on, and for keeping your sign-in access and your journal recovery material safe. If you think someone else has access to your account, tell us at team@daysli.com.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Daysli.
Your content
Your events, tasks, journal entries, photos and everything else you put into Daysli remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store, copy, transmit and display your content so that Daysli can show it back to you, send what you ask us to send, and keep backups. That permission is limited to operating and supporting Daysli, lasts only as long as we hold the content, and ends when you delete it or close your account. We do not use your content to train third-party or general-purpose AI models, to advertise, or to show it to anyone you have not chosen to show it to.
You are responsible for what you put in, including anything you write about other people, and for having the right to put it there.
Your public page
It is off until you turn it on. While it is on, the name, photo, bio and links you put there are visible to anyone with the address, and so is which times you have free — although never what you are doing in the busy ones. If you make a card and choose to show your work, the title, company and websites you wrote for the card appear there too. Turn the page off at any time and it stops answering.
People who send you a request do not need an account. They receive a link to follow their request. You decide whether to accept, and you can block a sender, after which their pending requests are declined and new ones do not reach you.
Connected calendars and other services
If you connect Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook, you are allowing Daysli to read when you are busy and — unless you choose to keep Daysli to itself — to add your Daysli events and the appointments you accept to the calendar you choose. You can disconnect whenever you like. Disconnecting stops all of it and removes the busy times we imported. Appointments already written to your calendar stay there, because they are yours and they are in your calendar; delete them there if you want them gone.
Daysli also relies on services we do not control — a calendar provider, an email provider, a hosting provider, and, where you use travel or weather information, a routing or forecast provider. Those services have their own terms, and we are not responsible for what they do, for their availability, or for content on any site we link to. When one of them is unavailable, the part of Daysli that needs it will be too.
Developer tokens and webhooks
You can make tokens that let your own software use Daysli on your behalf, within the scopes you choose. Keep them secret: anyone holding one can do what it allows until you revoke it, and you are responsible for what is done with it and for the software you give it to. Use them for your own purposes, within the published limits, and not to send people requests they did not ask for. We may revoke a token or turn off a webhook that is misused or harming the service. Letting other people’s apps connect to their Daysli accounts will come with developer terms of its own.
Your journal, and what encryption means for you
Your journal is encrypted on your device with a key we do not hold and cannot derive. That is a strong protection, and it cuts both ways: if you lose every device you have enrolled and your recovery code, nobody can recover your journal — including us. There is no master key, no escrow and no reset, and we cannot add one after the fact. Please keep your recovery code somewhere safe, and keep your own copies of anything you could not bear to lose.
Enrolling a device and keeping your recovery code are yours to do. We are not liable for journal content that cannot be read because the devices and recovery material that could open it have been lost, and that is a consequence of the design rather than a defect in it. The privacy policy describes exactly what we hold and what we cannot read.
What we ask of you
- Do not try to break, overload or probe the service, or other people’s accounts.
- Do not scrape public pages or automate requests against them.
- Do not resell Daysli, rent it out, or pass it off as your own.
- Do not copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the service except where the law expressly allows it.
- Do not upload malware, or content you have no right to.
- Do not use Daysli for anything unlawful, to harass or impersonate anyone, or to send anybody something they have told you to stop sending.
Our intellectual property
Daysli itself — the software, the design, the name and the marks — belongs to us or to those we license it from. These terms give you permission to use the service as it is offered, and nothing more; no rights in Daysli pass to you.
If you send us an idea or a suggestion, we may use it to improve Daysli without owing you anything for it. We are not asking for your content in return, and this does not touch it.
Availability
We work to keep Daysli running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or available at any particular time. We may change or withdraw features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance; where a change materially affects you we will tell you first if we reasonably can.
Daysli is not a reminder of last resort. Notifications depend on your device, your network and the platform delivering them. Do not rely on Daysli alone for something you cannot afford to miss, and keep your own copies of anything important.
Price
While Daysli is a personal experiment, using it costs nothing and no card is asked for. Billing is not switched on.
When Daysli is opened to more people, it will be one plan at one monthly price: the whole product, no tiers and no features held back. The price is US$9 a month in the United States. In some countries it is lower, by an amount fixed in advance (US$7.50, US$6.50 or US$5.50, or the same in the local currency); it is never less than US$5 a month. The price for your country is shown on daysli.com and again before you agree to anything. It is set by the country of your payment method and billing address, not by where you happen to be, and where it includes tax the screen says so. The timing is the same for everyone:
- Days 1 to 7 after you join: the whole product, and no card is needed.
- From day 8, to keep using it you add a payment method. Adding it does not charge you. The screen where you add it shows the exact date of the first charge before you confirm.
- On day 15 the first month is charged at that price, and then every month on the same date, until you cancel.
If the price for your country changes, we will tell you at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price, and you can cancel before then.
Payment is taken by the payment service of the platform you use — Google Play in the Android app, or a card payment provider on the web. Daysli never sees or stores your card number. You can cancel at any time, in Daysli or in that platform’s subscription settings; cancelling stops every future charge, and you keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for. Taxes, refunds and receipts follow the rules of the platform that took the payment and the law that applies to you.
If a payment fails we will tell you, and your account keeps working for a grace period while it is put right. If it is not put right, the account stops working until it is, but nothing in it is deleted because of a failed payment: your data stays until you delete it or close the account yourself, or until we tell you otherwise well in advance.
Ending it
You can stop using Daysli whenever you like and delete your account in the app, or by writing to team@daysli.com.
We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms, to harm someone, or where we are required to by law; where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right. We may also discontinue Daysli entirely, in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data before we do.
When your account is deleted, your data is deleted with it. Your journal cannot be recovered afterwards by anyone, including us.
Warranties
Daysli is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any defect will be corrected.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here affects rights that the law gives you and does not let us exclude.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost goodwill, or lost, corrupted or unrecoverable data — including journal content that can no longer be decrypted — whether the claim is in contract, in tort, or on any other basis, and whether or not we were told such loss was possible.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to Daysli or these terms is limited, in aggregate, to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars (US$100).
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not permit us to limit. Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you; if you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, see Law below.
These limits are a fair allocation of risk for an experimental project offered free of charge, and they survive the ending of your account and of these terms.
Your responsibility to us
If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did — content you put into Daysli that you had no right to put there, use of the service that broke these terms or the law, or harm you caused another person through it — you will cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur as a result, provided we tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in defending it. This does not apply where the law does not permit it, and it does not apply to anything caused by us.
Events outside our control
We are not liable for a failure or delay caused by something beyond our reasonable control — including an outage at a hosting, network, email or calendar provider, an act of government, a natural event, war, or a widespread failure of the internet.
If Daysli changes hands
We may transfer these terms, and the rights and obligations in them, to a successor — for example a company formed later to run Daysli. If that happens, your agreement continues with the successor on these terms, your data moves with it subject to the privacy policy, and we will tell you before it takes effect. You may not transfer your agreement without our consent.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives, where Daysli’s operator lives.
If you are a consumer, none of that takes away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country or state you live in, or your right to bring proceedings in your own courts. Where that law gives you more than these terms do, it wins.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters to you we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Daysli after that means you accept it.
The rest
If any part of these terms is held to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part is read as narrowly as it needs to be to become enforceable. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later. These terms, together with the privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about Daysli, and replace anything said before. We will send notices to the email address on your account or show them in the app; you can reach us at team@daysli.com.
